OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus and Khabarovsk agreed to launch exports of Belarusian equipment, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Belarus Andrei Popov told a news briefing in Minsk on April 3.

A delegation of the Khabarovsk krai headed by deputy chairman of the government- minister of economic development and foreign links Alexander Levintal concluded a visit to Belarus on April 3. On March 31 – April 1 the Russian delegation was in Minsk, on April 2-3 in Mogilev. The delegation was composed of representatives of the executive power, companies and organisations of the Khabarovsk krai, the Far East chamber of commerce and industry and also several companies of other regions of the Far East federal district and dealers of Belarusian companies in the far East.

During the visit the Khabarovsk officials met with Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Buria to discuss setting up joint manufacture of elevators in Khabarovsk, cooperation in passenger transport, export of Belarusian forestry equipment, deliveries of meat and dairy products. A protocol on trade and economic cooperation was signed between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the government of the Khabarovsk krai of the Russian Federation for 2008-2010.

The delegation from Khabarovsk had meetings in the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs, Belarusian chamber of commerce and industry and had negotiations with Belkommunmash, Amkodor company and Minsk Tractor Works. The agreements were reached to start deliveries of the equipment of these companies to Khabarovsk krai and other regions of the Far East.

During a trip to Mogilev the sides signed a protocol of intent. In Mogilev the Khabarovsk delegation visited the Mogilev Elevators Making Plant /Mogilevliftmash/, OAO Lenta, OAO Mogilevhimvolokno and other companies.

In 2007 the bilateral trade hit \\$6.6 million, or 24.6%, including \\$5.8 million, import \\$0.8 million. Belarus’ major exports to the Khabarovsk krai are furniture, dairy products, trucks, woodworking tools, textile, tires and tire casings.
