OREANDA-NEWS. On April 03, 2008 Ukio bankas has become the key sponsor of the Lithuanian Sea Museum. The Bank, contributing to the implementation of environmental ideas, has undertaken to provide financial aid to the museum, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas. 

“Ukio bankas sponsors and promotes many artistic, scientific and environmental initiatives; therefore we are happy to provide financial aid to one of the most unique museums in the whole Baltic Sea region, namely the Lithuanian Sea Museum. We hope that assistance from the Bank will give the museum more opportunities to expand their activities and implement new projects,” said Ukio bankas Klaipeda branch manager Kazimieras Liniauskas.

According to the Lithuanian Sea Museum director Olga Zaliene, aid received from businesses is very important for the museum. “Funds received from Ukio bankas will be used for animal health testing, improvement of their living conditions and different environmental projects. We are grateful and happy that Ukio bankas has become our key sponsor this year,” said director of the Lithuanian Sea Museum.

The Lithuanian Sea Museum is an institution that implements a very valuable mission: to encourage man’s harmony with the sea. The museum was opened 29 years ago and today houses 6 exhibitions, dolphin and sea-lion shows, live exhibits, collections of sea fauna and navigation history. Lithuanian Sea Museum has implemented a number of environmental and cultural education projects, has organized ethnic-cultural festival “Fish invented hymns” for three years.
