OREANDA-NEWS. April 03, 2008. According to the National Bank of Moldova, Russia remains the largest bilateral creditor of Moldova.

It accounted for 49,77% of the total debt of Moldova to bilateral creditors, which totalled \\$ 272,89 million, increasing by 2,3% in comparison with the previous year.

Another largest bilateral creditor of Moldova is USA, which accounted for \\$ 56,74 million or 20,8% of the total debt to bilateral creditors.

According to NBM, in 2007, the direct debt of Moldova to multilateral creditors increased by 11,8% - from \\$ 412,69 million up to \\$ 461,67 million.

Among the largest multilateral creditors of Moldova (\\$ 434,47 million) are: the World Bank group (\\$ 434,47 million), in particular, the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development and International Development Association.
