OREANDA-NEWS. The V Banks and Finance Caspian International Exhibition and conference started in Baku on April 8. Banks, insurance, leasing and financial market service companies take part in it. The representatives from the Azerbaijan Trade and Industry Chamber, the Economic Development Ministry and the State Securities Committee, as well as those from the bank associations of Georgia, Kazakhstan and Russia addressed the participants.

On the first day the conference discussed the influence of global financial processes on the Caspian region's financial institutions, the IPO market's advantages and problems, and the region's investment opportunities. A seminar on the risk-based creation of prices, intelligent analysis and finance management was also conducted. Experts from the international financial institutions presented the reports. The Azerbaijani financial sector was not represented sufficiently. Several main banks did not join the exhibition because of the participation's expensiveness. E.g., the preparation of a common stand covering 18 square meters costs AZN 4,000 - 6,000. The lease of the same area from the organizer costs EUR 6,000. Many companies and banks were represented by their middle-level managers.
