OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2008 was announced, that in 2007, for the first time in Russia, the first commercial lot of bimodal polyethylene was manufactured by our Company using a single reactor configuration. PE 2„N„S 11-9 grade polyethylene composition was made on its basis, which is mainly intended for manufacturing different types of pressure pipes (for example, gas pipelines and water pipelines).

Manufacturing methods are the same as manufacturing UNXP-4808 grade polyethylene, which is assigned to PE100 polyethylene in accordance with test report No."BODYCOTE/P-03/143" dated August 8, 2003, performed by world-famous company "Bodycote Polymer AB". 
Our Company obtained sanitary-and-epidemiological expert opinion concerning suitability of this composition for drinking water pipes manufacturing.

PE 2„N„S 11-9 sample was sent to NTC "Plastic" ZAO "AND Gaztrubplast" for thorough test procedures to confirm MRS minimal durability more than 10 MPa with subsequent possibility of assigning PE 2„N„S 11-9 polyethylene composition to the „P„^100 grade polyethylene. The total test period can be up to 10 000 hours.

The most of tests were done by April 1, 2008.

Investigation of obtained test results give us the following:

-predicted average durability at 20oC and 50 years ѓРLTHS life time is 11,3 MPa.
-lower confidence bound of ѓРLPL durability is 10,9 MPa.

The obtained preliminary data of durability test do not yield to data, presented by "Bodycote" in the report P/-03/143 concerning the tests of UNXP-4808 Black grade polyethylene.

The abovementioned results give us possibility of assigning PE 2„N„S 11-9 polyethylene composition to the PE 100 grade polyethylene. NTC "Plastic" ZAO "AND Gaztrubplast" continue their test procedures.
