OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2008 was announced, that this year the International Bioenergy Summit and Exhibition devoted to the issues of biomass and biofuels production take place in the exhibition centre “ LenExpo ”, St. Petersburg on April, 8-10. They are held together with the VII International Forum of Fuel and Energy sector in St. Petersburg, which will consider issues such as the sector on the whole, electric power industry, alternative energy, the market of natural gas, etc. The event will be backed by the official support of the RF Ministry of Agriculture, the National Bioenergy Association and the National Bioenergy Union.

Over 30 companies will be present at the Summit and Exhibition – the major participants of the world market, representatives of the leading enterprises in the Russian industry, biofuels sector and agriculture, including the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East OJSC PAVA ( www.apkhleb.ru ).

Andrei Igoshin, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sergei Balaenkov, Director of Finance and Galina Balaenkova, Director of International Business Development and Investor Relations will represent the Altai company PAVA in St. Petersburg.

The grain processor’s interest in this Summit is related to the company’s plans to finish construction of the advanced wheat-based BioRefinery as early as 2010, which means launching production of bioethanol fuel.

“We have already declared repeatedly our plans about the advanced wheat-based BioRefinery construction in the Rebrikhinsky district of the Altai Territory. In St. Petersburg we’ll have an opportunity to discover new technologies, equipment, financial details in regard to such projects, and also to establish business contacts with companies in different parts of the world”, said Andrei Igoshin.

The programme of the Summit will touch upon such relevant questions as the European and Russian development strategy of the biomass and biofuels industry up to 2020, correlation between prices of agricultural raw materials and fuel, effective agriculture compared to subsidized one, import and export in the Russian context of a country producing oil and natural gas, and more than 20 other topics.

The purpose of the Summit is to improve the exchange of information between those who is interested in the development of alternative energy from economic, ecological or social point of view.
