OREANDA-NEWS. On April 09, 2008 Russian Railways President Vladimir Yakunin and Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov have signed a memorandum on the main areas for cooperation in 2008, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

The two companies intend to develop their transport infrastructure to secure deliveries of petroleum enterprises from Lukoil’s companies.

Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez, for example, ships 850,000 tons of product by rail every month and Permneftegazpererabotka up to 150,000 tons per month, while Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka ships up to 900,000 tons per month. In addition, Lukoil’s shipments of oil to the port of Vysotsk this year will rise to 14 million tons.

In addition, Russian Railways and Lukoil intend to implement a system of fibre-optic data transmission between Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez, Permneftegazpererabotka and Osentsy Station, and between Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka and Tatyanka Station.
