OREANDA-NEWS. On April 09, 2008 the international credit ratings agency "Moody's Investors Service" ("Moody's") has retained unchanged Riga's credit rating for bond security in the local and foreign currency at A2.

The development of that city's finance and economy sector is assessed as sustainable.

As reported, at the end of last year, ''Moody's'' retained Latvia's foreign currency bank deposits rating and government bonds rating at the level of A2 with a stable future outlook.

This is mainly influenced by Latvia's successful economic transition over the past decade.

Latvia's foreign currency debt rating has been retained at the maximum level of Aa1, which shows the agency's assessment of the low risks of the government's domestic debt.
