OREANDA-NEWS. On April 14, 2008 Executive director of the Asian Development Bank Kyung-Ho Kim is on a visit in Uzbekistan, reported the Official website www.gov.uz.

While in Tashkent, the ADB official held talks in the number of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan.

At the negotiations with the vice-chairman of board of the National Bank of Uzbekistan Batyr Nurullayev, the sides considered perspectives of relations between the country and the bank, including implementation of new joint projects.

The ADB has invested in various socioeconomic spheres in Uzbekistan since 1995, supporting the reforms in the country.

In March 2006, the bank approved the strategy and cooperation program for Uzbekistan for the years 2006-2010.

The volume of credits issued by the international structure to Uzbekistan has exceeded USD 1 billion. These funds have been used for implementation of 25 strategic projects in transport infrastructure, energy, agriculture, communal sector, small business and education.

Besides, the bank has provided technical assistance grants worth a total of USD 72 million to the republic.
