OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2008. LUKOIL Uzbekistan, a subsidiary of LUKOIL Overseas, has commissioned the eighth pad of gas producing wells on Khauzak in Bukhara Region, thus completing construction of the field, reported the press-centre of LUKOIL Overseas.

Construction of Khauzak infrastructure started back in 2006 and the main facilities were commissioned in November 2007.  The last stage of construction work coincided with anomalously harsh winter for this region that was the coldest one in the last 80 years (daytime temperature reached -28 C with stormy wind). Nevertheless, all work was completed just on time and with high quality.

15 producing wells are currently on stream in the field, and their number will increase to 23 by the end of the year.   Necessary equipment has already been delivered to the field base. In the third quarter this year production of gas on Khauzak will reach its design level of more than 250 million cubic meters per month and by the end of the year 2008 the field will reach its maximum capacity of about 300 million cubic meters of gas per month.
