OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2008. German investors are willingly developing their activity in Lviv region (West Ukraine), said Karin Rau, Germany's economic delegate to Ukraine, who attended the ceremony of laying a foundation stone for a new Henkel plant in Mykolaivskyi district, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

135 companies with German capital are already functioning in the region. By the level of local investment, Germany ranks second after Poland, with above USD 71 million worth of investments by the beginning of the year, the regional state administration says.

Among Germany's new projects there are those for the construction of Bader (in Yavoriv) and Henkel (near Mykolaiv) enterprises. The Germans are planning to invest in the latter up to EUR 12 million, and create about two hundred jobs.

A source from the economic delegate's bureau said in 2007 German investors might double capital investments in the Ukrainian economy in 2008 on condition of stabilization of political situation.
