OREANDA-NEWS. On April 17, 2008 Kolomensky Zavod has completed tests of a new turbo-charger model TK32-07 as part of the diesel locomotive diesel generator 1A-9DG, ver. 3. The pilot of the new series of turbo-charges was designed by a design bureau engineers at the Penzadieselmash plant, reported the press-centre of Penzadieselmash plant.

Viktor Mironov, Penzadieselmash chief designer, said the TK32-07 integrated the latest developments in aerodynamics and durability. It has the redesigned turbine blades, compressor wheel, and two-stage diffuser. A special-purpose machine tool with electronic controls was installed at the plant to produce the integral compressor wheel.

Valery Ryzhov, chief designer of Kolomensky Zavod, who took part in the tests, appreciated the high quality of work of Penza designers: “The coefficient of efficiency of the new TK32-07 was 62%, which is 4-5% higher than that of TK41V-25 manufactured by another plant and currently used for our diesel-generator 1A-9DG, ver.3.” The excess air ratio at maximum power totaled 2.3 compared to 2.1 of TK41V-25. The smaller turbine wheel greatly improved the model features. The new TK32-07 turbo-charger will reduce the average fuel consumption by 2% compared to TK41V-25.”

The new TK32-07 turbo-charger can be used for 1A-9DG, ver. 3, diesel-generators manufactured by Kolomensky Zavod and for an upgrade and extension of service life of previously manufactured 2TE10 diesel freight locomotives.

TK32-07 is designed to supercharge a diesel engine increasing its power and the coefficient of efficiency.

In June, Penzadieselmash is scheduled to manufacture a batch of 10 new turbo-charges of the TK32-07 type.
