OREANDA-NEWS. On April 17, 2008 Sorainen presented its 100th book to the Riga Graduate School of Law library. The ceremony took place during the 10th anniversary celebration of the School, reported the press-centre of Sorainen.

Cooperation started in 2001 when every book donated to the RGSL library was specially selected in order to provide the library with the best and most topical law literature. “Since then, 100 books have already been donated with a total value in excess of 21,000 EUR.

This enabled the library to become one of the best law libraries in Eastern Europe,” says Agris Repss, partner from Sorainen Riga office.

During the event Janis Taukacs, partner from Sorainen Riga office, delivered a presentation on tax consultation developments, stressing the fact of tax lawyers’ shortage in the Baltics, where one of the reasons is gaps in legal education. Janis Taukacs also introduced to the “enchantment” of tax lawyers daily duties. During the ceremony Agris Repss, RGSL rector Lesley Jane Smith and the head of RGSL library Ligita Gjortlere gave speeches on future developments of the library and school.
