OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2008. This was informed by the ambassador of Moldova in Russia Vasile Sturza, commenting on his visit to Cheboksary.

As he said, Moldova can export to Chuvashiya agricultural products - fruits, vegetables, juices, wines and products of light industry. Moldova is also interested in the industrial sector of Chuvashiya, in particular in mechanical engineering (tractors).

Within the frameworks of one-day visit to Cheboksary, Vasily Sturza has met with the prime minister of Chuvashiya Sergey Gaplikov and then visited a number of leading industrial and agricultural enterprises of the region. According to the Ministry of economical development of Chuvashiya, in 2007, foreign trade turnover between Moldova and Chuvashiya has amounted to \\$3 million 455,6 thousand or 0,8 % from the total turnover of Chuvashiya and 2,4 % from its total turnover with other CIS countries.

The volume of export of Chuvashiya to Moldova made \\$3 million 454,3 thousand and import of Moldova to the region- \\$1,3 thousand, respectively. In 2007, deliveries to Moldova have doubled.

The volume of import from Moldova has decreased by 95,8 %. Chuvashiya exports: tannic or paint extracts; albumens; pyrotechnics; chemical products; plastic; rubber; products from ferrous metals; aluminium; means of ground transport and spare parts; optical tools and devices; spare parts to weaver's equipment; transformers; electromagnets; resistors; switches; relays; electric devices etc. Chuvashiya mostly imports: polygraph products; carpets; textile products; ceramics; glass; products from ferrous metals; toys; tricycles; skateboards; electric lamps; beddings; furniture; kitchen sets; kitchen products for household needs; tableware.
