OREANDA-NEWS. On April 21, 2008 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) recognized that "Kalugaoblgaz" OJSC violated Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing dominant position) and issued a determination to stop the violations, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In November 2007, during a scheduled inspection of the market of network natural gas in the Kaluga region, FAS Russia established that "Kalugaoblgaz" OJSC charged consumers for exercising the approval procedures to use natural gas as fuel, which is against the existing legislation on gas supply.

Moreover, "Kalugaoblgaz" OJSC issued approvals for using gas as a fuel for gas plants and equipment that do not require special permissions or approvals under the current legislation.

FAS Russia recognized that such actions of "Kalugaoblgaz" OJSC violated the antimonopoly legislation because they prevented consumers from having access to the markets of gas transportation and supply in the Kaluga region.
