OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 May 2008 was announced, that in the near future, the north of Irkutsk area starts realization of a set of large investment projects connected with development of oil-and-gas, gas condensate, coal, and gold deposits, wood processing, chemical and aluminum production. However, electric networks on this territory do not possess the transmission capacity which is necessary for covering the consumption growth. In this connection, Irkutskenergo Company, together with the Administration of Irkutsk area, has developed the investment project on complex development of electric networks in the north of Irkutsk area.

According to Chief of the Analysis and Estimation Department of JSC Irkutskenergo Sergey Kuchev, the project includes construction of 695 km networks of 220 kV voltage, 1,441 km networks of 500 kV, four substations of 220 kV, four substations of 500 kV. Realization of the project is divided into two stages. The first assumes creation of the infrastructure for power supply of the enterprises operating in the north of the area, the second one is directed to improvement of transmission capacity of electric networks. All this will provide reliable electricity supply of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, and in conditions of high cargo transportations volume growth rates will enable construction of new generating capacity objects of the federal value with use of associated gas at the Kirensnk or Ust Kut platforms. Besides, the system of the centralized power supply of Bodaibinsky and Mamsko-Chuisky areas will be created.

Sergey Kuchev noted that thus tax revenues will increase in budgets of various levels, and there will be more workplaces in the north of the Angarsk Territory. According to the estimation of the project designers, its realization requires 51.8 billion rubles. Irkutskenergo plans to realize this project due to attraction of the RF-Investment Fund money.
