OREANDA-NEWS. May 7, 2008. The specific issues of further expansion of mutually advantageous partnership were considered during a regular meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Co-Operation in Ashkhabad. The meeting resulted in issuing the Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Japanese companies Komatsu and Itochu Corporation stipulating for long-term co-operation in deliveries and support manning of up-to-date road building machines. In accordance with the Agreement Komatsu is to deliver high-quality high-powered machines to Turkmenistan to be engaged in the projects in the fuel and energy sector, transport and water industry, in particular the project on construction of the Turkmen Lake in the Karakum Desert. Each year Turkmenistan is to buy up to 200 Komatsu machines till 2015 inclusive.

The partners achieved the agreement on considerable expansion of the network of the Komatsu service and training centres in Turkmenistan through constructing the centres in Ashgabat and the regions as well.
