OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2008. Northern European financial group SEB plans to move some of its operations to Vilnius: in autumn this year, the SEB Group’s Account Operations currently operating in Stockholm will be moved to Vilnius. A similar operations centre that has taken over some of the Group operations from Sweden has been successfully functioning in Riga (Latvia) since last year, reported the press-centre of SEB Group.

“The decision to move some of the operations to Lithuania will help the SEB Group to increase its operational efficiency and decrease the costs of the subdivision – this is especially relevant in the context of growing customer requirements and increasing competition. We appreciate the fact that some of the functions are moved namely to Lithuania, where SEB has experienced specialists and a strong position,” says Ausra Matuseviciene, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SEB Bank.

She said that the new operations centre in Vilnius will provide services to the SEB retail customers in Sweden. It is planned that it will start functioning at the end of the year.

Initially, the new operations centre should have nearly 70 employees, and their recruitment process will start already in April.
