On 08 May 2008 was announced, that Transaero Airlines has recently been entered on the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit register after successfully undergoing the IOSA audit carried out by Wake QA Ltd in 2007. IOSA is the global standard in airline safety.

Transaero Airlines sees safety as its number one priority. The carrier’s modern fleet of well maintained jetliners, team of experienced service professionals and smooth coordination of all services testify to the airlines outstanding safety record: from initial operations in 1991 to the present, Transaero has never had an air safety incident.

Unsurpassed safety in the skies and international service quality allows the airline to attract more and more passengers every year and maintain high growth rates. In Q1 this year Transaero Airlines raised its main operational indicators an average of 43% in comparison with Q1 2007. Passenger traffic in first three months of 2008 has reached more than 3.83 million passenger-kilometers, 43% more than for the previous Q1. Passenger volume for January - March 2008 was 791,000 passengers, a 44% increase on the same period in 2007. Cargo traffic was 367,000 ton – kilometers, 43% more than Q1 last year.

According to statistics published in 2008, Transaero Airlines is Russia’s second-largest carrier in terms of passenger traffic.
