OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 May 2008 SlavinvestBank announced that it joined the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA).

Within expansion of its international efforts, SlavinvestBank seeks close cooperation with APLMA member banks with a view to access new international loan markets and promote trade finance products. The first step is Bank’s participation in the 10th Annual Conference of the Association due in June 2008 in Shanghai. SlavinvestBank is the only Russian credit institution participating in the upcoming event.

The main goal for SlavinvestBank to join the Association is to establish contacts with financial institutions of the Asia-Pacific Region and to discuss ways of interbank cooperation.

APLMA was established in 1998 and now it has 174 members, the bulk of which are major global banks such as Agricultural Bank of China, Asia Development Bank, Bank of East Asia, China Development Bank, Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd., Bank of Shanghai, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, BA Asia, Bank of China, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Limited, HSBC Investment Bank Asia, National Australia Bank, Sumitomo Bank, Arab Bank plc and a lot of others.

SlavinvestBank has also signed a cooperation agreement with the Loan Brokers Association.

The document was sealed within the Bank’s programme for expansion of cooperation with mortgage and broker firms. The partnership suggests mutual exchange of information and joint advertising campaigns.

"Cooperation with the Russian Loan Brokers Association will facilitate extension of the Bank’s agency network as well as continued improvement of client service. The Association holds seminars and advanced trainings for front office employees on a regular basis. Moreover we are also going to cooperate to improve financial literacy, among other things, by raising awareness of the public about all opportunities and advantages of purchasing real estate through mortgage," comments Fiodor Kuznetsov, Head of the Agency Network Development.

The parties also seek cooperation in extension of the client base and in maintenance of real estate transactions.
