OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2008. The Russian-British oil company TNK-BP is expecting growth of its oil production in 2009 compared to 2008, said Sergey Brezitsky, Executive Vice President, Upstream, TNK-BP, to the press, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

“A 1% drop of oil production in 2008 and its subsequent growth in 2009 was expected according to the five-year development plan of the company adopted in 2007. Later, this forecast was revised, and now we are expecting that our oil production in 2008 will remain at the level of 2007 and start growing in 2009,” said he.

The Vice President did not specify how much the oil production of the company will be increased in 2009. According to Mr. Brezitsky, the Board of Directors will make concrete oil production plans for 2009 in September.

Mr. Brezitsky noted that the oil production of the company will grow through launching new projects, such as the Uvat and Verkhnechona projects, and raising the level of associated petroleum gas utilization.
