OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2008. IC ROSNO-MS was invited, as an expert, to participate in the London conference held by BEARR Trust and CEELBA, the largest British non-governmental charity organizations, and dedicated to the topic "Russia and its New President: Opportunities and Challenges to Non-Governmental Organizations in Healthcare Sector", reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

At this conference, the insurance group ROSNO was represented by Ms. L.D. Popovich, Executive Director of OJSC "ROSNO-MS", who delivered a report "Evolution of the Russian Public Healthcare Reforms: Russian Approach", which focused on the most serious problems and challenges to the Russian healthcare system, outcome of the National Project "Health", and prospects for reforming of the healthcare system until 2020. Special attention was paid to the role and potential of non-governmental entities, including medical insurers, in increasing efficiency of the Russian healthcare system.

The presented materials, including the reports on the Russian healthcare reforms, operation of local and foreign NGOs in Russia, development prospects of healthcare NGOs in Russia and NGO development programs, have drawn a brisk discussion among the conference participants.
The discussion was also attended by representatives of the UK Government, Oxford University, Birmingham University, Centre for Democracy and Civil Society, Open Institute for Health, and heads of such NGOs as SSEES, UCL, and CEELBAS.
