OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 May 2008 was announced, that Transneft opened its community liaison office in Vladivostok. The Company has proceeded to preliminary public discussions of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of ESPO second phase.

36 offices were opened on the territory of four Far Eastern constituent entities of the RF the ESPO-2 route would be passing through. Over two months and a half it will receive all persons interested in requirements specification, preliminary material of ESPO EIA and take their suggestions to the project.

Public environmental organizations pay great attention to this project. According to RIA PrimaMedia, ecologists have no objections to the construction of the oil pipeline and support the idea of economic development and prosperity of Far East. Moreover, realization of such a project requires preservation of the unique parts of wild nature. Therefore more than 25 far-eastern public organizations had discussed problems of  ESPO-2 construction within the framework of Research council of the Coordinating Board of the Amur River and prepared their offers for designers.
