OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 May 2008 X5 Retail Group N.V., the largest Russian retail company by sales volume, announced the launch of a special customer loyalty card, the Club Perekrestok Football card. The card’s release has been timed to coincide with the Euro2008 football tournament.

The promotion began on May 25 at all Perekrestok stores in Moscow and the Moscow region and will continue until December 31, 2008. Customers can purchase Club Perekrestok Football cards until August 1, 2008.

The Club Perekrestok Football customer loyalty program offers all the same key benefits as a regular Club Perekrestok card. Customers collect bonus points on their account whenever they make purchases with their Club card. These points can then be used to buy anything they want at Perekrestok stores. However, the Club Perekrestok Football card also has several exciting advantages developed specifically for football fans:

• With the card, football fans can receive real-time information about any matches that the Russian national team is playing in. The information can be printed on their receipt at a store or viewed in their personal account on Perekrestok‘s website.
•
• On game days for the Russian team, card holders will receive five bonus points for every 10 rubles spent. Usually, they get one point for every 10 rubles spent.
•
• For every Perekrestok brand product marked with a football symbol that they purchase, they’ll receive TRIPLE bonus points.
•
• The most active participants in the program will receive special prizes and presents.
•
The price of a card package, which includes a card, a card sleeve and a brochure, is 199 rubles. The card is good for 2 years after purchase. The Club Perekrestok Football card will function until December 31, 2008. After that, it will function as a standard Club Perekrestok card.

Karina Chernikova, X5 Retail Group’s Marketing Director, said, “Our team’s path to Austria and Switzerland wasn’t easy. We, together with the rest of the country, are proud that the Russian national team is among the 16 best teams on the continent. We support the Russian team along with all real football fans, and we hope that our football players’ winning tradition that goes back to the middle of the twentieth century will continue to grow with the current generation of players.”
