OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2008. "SEB banka – Loving Music" – we often say these words to stress that SEB wants to support, take part in and attend major musical events in Latvia, reported the press-centre of SEB banka.

In Rundale Palace, the concert travel Sinfionetta Riga Discovers Rundale Palace, one of the largest and most beautiful cultural event in Latvia this year, took place, gathering outstanding performers, representatives of the Latvian Government, largest bank's customers, and famous people in the field of culture.

This event was organised for the first time, and it celebrated the 272nd anniversary of Rundale Palace. The organisers have promised that the event would become an annual tradition and a major event in the cultural life of Latvia.

Musical enjoyment was provided by one of the best chamber orchestras in Latvia, Sinfionetta Riga, but special artistic surprises were offered by Alexander Knyazev, charismatic cellist from Russia. The compositions played at the concert reflected the musical diversity of the 19th century, as the programme included The Clock, Joseph Haydn's symphony, and Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations.

SEB banka has established long-term cooperation with Normunds Sne, conductor of Sinfonietta Riga, by providing support to the Riga Festival Orchestra, which also is managed by him. "SEB banka is glad for the opportunity to realise, together with Sinfonietta Riga, this new idea, and together we can make this event even more significant and loved in the musical life of Latvia," said Ainars Ozols, President of SEB banka, during the event.

Latvian media showed great interest in the concert. It was filmed by the Latvian Television, and it will be showed on TV in mid-June.
