OREANDA-NEWS. On May 27, 2008 Aeroflot Russian Airlines operated the first scheduled flight from Moscow to Bratislava. You can book tickets for the Moscow – Bratislava – Moscow route in all Aeroflot sales offices or directly through our homepage www.aeroflot.com.  Flights depart on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the aircraft is a Tu-154M, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

Flight SU 137 from Moscow to Bratislava leaves at 5pm and arrives at 5.50pm. The return flight, SU 138, takes off from Bratislava at 7pm and lands in Moscow at 1.45pm (all times are local times).

The Aeroflot office in Bratislava was originally opened in 1969.

Russia and Slovakia signed the new air transport agreement in 1997.  The air rights were granted to Aeroflot Russian Airlines.

In 1990, Aeroflot flew five times per week to Bratislava. However, in 2004 flights were discontinued because the Typ Il-62 and Tu-134 aircraft failed to meet the noise and emission standards of the European Union.

Between 2004 and 2007, the route was covered by Slovak Airlines. As a codeshare partner, Aeroflot received a block for sale.

In recent years, economic and cultural relationships between the two countries have grown considerably, and at the same time the number of Russian tourists visiting Slovakia has also increased. The direct flight to Bratislava improves Aeroflot’s services offer. Now, passengers do not have to fly via Prague, Vienna or Budapest.

All members of our frequent flyer programme, “Aeroflot Bonus”, are able to earn 1010 bonus miles on this route.
