OREANDA-NEWS. It is necessary to pay special attention to implementation of the Belarus-Russia Union’s programme on agricultural machine industry, Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Pavel Borodin told reporters in Gomel on May 29.

The programme on agricultural machine industry has been passing by the finance ministries of the two countries for two years. However, this programme was launched last year only. “Now we are going to advance it actively,” Pavel Borodin noted. According to him, the efficient activity of the joint boards of the Belarusian and Russian ministries will promote the successful implementation of the programme. In particular, it is necessary to intensify the work of the joint boards of the ministries of agriculture and foodstuffs, the ministries of finance and economy.

Pavel Borodin informed that the budget of the Belarus-Russia Union State for 2009 will make up around RUB7 billion. For the recent 8 years the Union budget increased almost 10 times. At present it makes up RUB4 billion. Some 25% of the Union budget is assigned for the health care system of Belarus and Russia. Moreover, 28 thousand Russian and Belarusian companies are involved in various Union’s programmes.

During his visit to Gomel, Pavel Borodin met with the leadership of the Gomel oblast. The official intends to visit the National Centre of Radiation Medicine and Gomselmash Company.
