OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 June 2008 was announced, that German airline Lufthansa, the largest foreign air carrier operating on the Russian market, increased the number of flights from Berlin and Hamburg to Moscow International Airport Domodedovo.

For now Lufthansa operates two flights to Berlin and four flights to Hamburg. On June 2, the airline started operating four direct flights to Berlin, three direct flights to Hamburg and three flights to Hamburg via Berlin.

In addition, on June 2, 2008, one of the largest Russian airlines, Transaero, started operating a second daily flight to Ekaterinburg. Transaero has previously operated its flights to Ekaterinburg only in the evenings. The new flight will be operated during the daytime.

The Ural destinations, and particularly Ekaterinburg – the capital of the Ural, are especially popular. The airlines operating from Domodedovo served 468,233 passengers only in 2007.
