OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 June 2008 was announced, that according to the data of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic in April 2008 the increase of the consumer cost index, qualifying the inflation rate, has reached 1.06 percent compared to the previous month (in April 2007 the inflation rate was 0.2 percent). For the period from the beginning of the year (April 2008 to December 2007) the inflation rate has reached the level of 7.2 percent.

By the NBKR estimates, the inflation trends from the beginning of the year have been formed in the following way: the effect of non-monetary factors constituted 78.5 percent, the effect of monetary factors, including funds outside banks and the exchange rate of the som, constituted 9.9 percent. Inflation expectations of the population had an impact in the amount of 11.6 percent.

In comparison with March 2008 the price increase for goods in the food stuff group "Food stuff and soft drinks" has slowed down and constituted 1.5 percent. In this group of goods during the period under consideration the highest increase of prices was for bread (3.5 percent), extra quality wheat flour (3.3 percent), meat (2.6 percent), fats and oils (2.1 percent) and soft drinks (3.0 percent).

Prices for nonfood goods have increased by 0.5 percent in April. The highest increase was observed for diesel fuel (by 12.9 percent) due to the beginning of agricultural and field works and the general tendency of price increase for oil at international markets.

Prices and tariffs for paid services to the population has increased by 0.9 percent in April 2008, among these services the prices for services in restaurants and hotels have increased by 0.6 percent.
