OREANDA-NEWS. June 4, 2008. The business trip of the Gazprom delegation headed by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee is progressing across the Far East and the Transbaikal region.

Today Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) signed in Mirny a five-year Accord on Gasification of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Pursuant to the Accord, the parties will jointly develop an investment project for the gasification of Yakutia with regard of a comprehensive approach to utilizing natural gas, heat and electricity as well as for the development and conservation of hydrocarbon resources in the region. The Accord will encompass a general gas supply and gasification scheme including technical and economic proposals on gasification of the Lensky, Olekminsky, Aldansky and Neryungrinsky areas in southern Yakutia; investment rationale for the construction of gas supply and gasification facilities; creation of an integrated automated gas control and metering system; secured loading of existing and new gas laterals and other gas supply and gasification facilities; proposals on the application of advanced technologies and distributed energy equipment in the climatic and environmental conditions of Yakutia. The document will also provide for possible utilization of alternative (including local) gas supply sources for the gasification of population centers located at long distances from gas trunklines.
