OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2008. Ukrainian higher educational establishments raised payment for studying by 30 percent on average. The contract amounts fluctuate within the limits from UAH 3,700 to UAH 25,000 for full time students and from UAH 2,800 to UAH 7,200 for instruction by correspondence (USD 1/UAH 4,85), reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

Stomatology, finance and banking, architectural design and automobile engineering are leaders in raising payment (plus 43-57 percent). Future economists, architectures and goods managers, as well as specialists in the sphere of information and in some food technologies will have pay by 20-38 percent more for their education.

Prices increased less for accountants and law students, plus 10-17 percent. At the same time, some higher educational establishments raised prices twofold.

The most expensive contract student is a law student from the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko State University, he/she will pay almost UAH 22,000 a year. The Kharkiv Polytechnic University entrants are proposed to economize on payment for contract studies and make payment before July 15 (according to old prices), so a future student will be able to save UAH 1,820 for a year for full time studies and UAH 880 for instruction by correspondence.

The Kyiv Polytechnic University tries to directly rouse a student's interest in good studies. For instance, at the Radio Department, which always was among the most difficult for studying departments, a term is envisaged in the contract, providing that if a student studies for two semesters and receives "good" or "excellent" marks, he/she will be transferred to the "budgetary" form of studies, beginning from the second year of studying. Therefore, as a rule, students getting well in subjects do not remain on the "contract" form of studying.
