OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 June 2008 was announced, that United Metallurgical Company participated in the "Chemistry. Oil and Gas" exhibition, which was held in Minsk from May 27 to 30. The exhibitors included more than 100 companies from 8 countries. In the context of the exhibition, OMK made a presentation of its pipe-manufacturing entities: Vyksa Steel Works, Almetyevsk Pipe Plant, and Trubodetal. Nikolay Zaitsev, Executive Director of OMK-Steel, presented a report titled "OMK in the Belarus Pipe Market." Mr. Zaitsev focused on the future expansion of deliveries to Belarus of the entire range of the Company’s products: pipes designed for main gas and oil pipelines, oil-and-gas and general-purpose pipes, casing pipes, water-and-gas pipes, and shaped pipes.

"The Belarus market is very important for OMK," emphasized Mr. Zaitsev. "Last year, we supplied 37 thousand tonnes of various types of pipes to the Republic of Belarus, or 27% of our total pipe supplies to the CIS countries. Over the first four months of this year, this indicator accounted for 13.3 thousand tonnes. This year, our supplies to Belarus are estimated to increase due to sales to construction companies, contracting agencies, and entities of the power sector."
