OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2008.  Due to this fuel Taymyr will not miss the next navigation period, the director general of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko said during a meeting with people in Murmansk region.

“Rosatom has not only financial but also managerial levers for supporting the nuclear fleet of Russia. When Taymyr comes back from cruise, the fuel burn-up factor in the core of its reactor will be very high. Unless supplied with new fuel, the ship will be forced to miss the next navigation period. TVEL is part of Rosatom and we have decided that the company will produce and supply nuclear fuel for Taymyr on installment plan,” Kiriyenko said.

The cost of this project will make up 250mln RUR.
