OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2008. The world market of grain crops is preparing for getting Ukraine's coming harvests, as Ukraine is one of the most promising exporters, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

In keeping with the renovated forecast of the International Grain Council, the world output of grain crops in 2008 - 2009 will increase by 38 million tons to 1,712 million tons except for the output of rice.

According to forecasts, the biggest contribution to the growth of the world output will be made by the European Union member-countries (plus 35 million tons), including France (plus 7,4 million tons), Australia (plus 13,7 million tons) and Ukraine (plus 8,7 million tons).

On May 21, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers cancelled quotas on the export of grain from Ukraine.

The World Bank recommended Ukraine as a big world producer of wheat to help towards increase in global deliveries of grain. In the WB opinion, Ukraine stands a chance to gain profit from the recent increase in the world grain prices.
