OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 June 2008 was announced, that in May, OJSC PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru), the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East , delivered flour to 4 developing countries – Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tajikistan. All these shipments were performed within the framework of PAVA’s collaboration with the UN, as part of its World Food Programme. The UN WFP is designed to provide assistance to developing countries. The Programme intends food aid for the purposes of promoting economic and social development.

The total volume of May shipments by the PAVA company to such countries amounted to 6,000 tons. Somalia , Ethiopia , Kenya and Tajikistan received fortified flour, produced in keeping with the international standards. The quality of this flour is close to high grade, but still differs from it in several characteristics. Moreover, the flour for developing countries is enriched with a special vitamin complex, also prepared according to the international standards.

The vitamin complex is introduced in the flour in order to increase immunity of people living in the countries suffering from problems with food. Regular consumption of products made from this flour is one of the most efficient ways to prevent trace elements deficiency in the food ration, including iron deficiency anemia.

“We’ve been working with the UN within the line of the Food Programme for several years now. Our flour has performed well. We get very positive feedback from our customers. They particularly note the quality of the sacks in which the flour is delivered, as they virtually don’t deform”, said Andrey Ananin, OJSC PAVA Director General.
