OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 June 2008 was announced, that OJSC PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru), the largest grain-processor of Siberia and the Far East, won the competition for the name of “Best Exporter of the Year”. The competition was held by The Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade within the framework of the government programme promoting export development in Russia. The results for 2007 were summarized in early May.

A special estimation method was worked out for selecting the candidates which included many parameters: the ratio of export to the total volume of the company’s shipments, the growth of export during the given period compared to the previous period and so on. The participants were nominated in 4 categories: “Best Exporter of the Industry”, “Most Rapidly Developing Russian Exporter”, “Best Russian Exporter to the CIS”, “For Export Promotion”.

PAVA won in the nomination “Agriculture (products of plant origin) – Best Exporter of the Industry”.

Last year PAVA shipped 37,8 thousand tons of flour to the countries of near and far abroad. In 2007 the Altay grain-processor made a real breakthrough in this direction – the share of the company’s export shipments increased several times and made up 17% of the total volume of exported flour.

“Developing overseas markets is one of the foreground activities of our company’s business. In 2007 we proved ourselves to be a reliable partner which is able to produce big volumes of high-quality products suitable for exporting. Last year we set up an International Business Department where employees specialize in drawing up foreign contracts. Today our company is the only Altay grain-processor who makes its export shipments through the ports of Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg”, said Andrey Ananin, OJSC PAVA Director General.
