OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 June 2008 was announced, that sibirtelecom, as one of Russia’s top telecommunications companies, passed international certification for the compliance of management quality system to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000.  The management quality certificate was issued to the head office of Sibirtelecom as well as three of its branches – Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Kemerovo.

In January and February 2008 the head office of Sibirtelecom and 3 of the company’s branches were subjected to a comprehensive audit at the international certification center NQA-Global Assurance Russia – a leading global certification center, which makes an evaluation of companies based on international standards. The certification audit performed by Sibirtelecom confirmed the company’s compliance with this standard.

“We’ve had to overcome a number of changes on our path, including the company’s organizational structure as well as many standard business procedures, in order to react more rapidly to market demands and operate as an advanced telecom service provider.  We’re currently in the process of implementing a 5-year program called “Overhauling the sales and service system”, the purpose of which is to raise sales in our transition to a new level of service and business innovation.  Compliance with international standards is one of the stages of our long-term program.  By 2011 we intend to have all of our branches certified”, noted Sibirtelecom’s general director, Alexander Isayev.

According to statistics, nowadays in Russia less than 3% of all companies are certified for compliance with management quality ISO 9001:2000, whereas about 70% of UE countries are certified and 40% of Chinese companies.  Sibirtelecom is one of Russia’s leading telecom companies and as such has received a management quality certificate.

Receiving this certification confirms the efficiency of the company’s business processes, and shows that its management system is capable of responding to market changes, and creating a powerful to resource to obtain and promptly make use of reliable information on the status of business issues. Experts from NQA- Global Assurance Russia during the audit also analyzed the operations of the various business units, their functionality and identified the level of involvement of these structures in the overall results.  A good evaluation was made of the team’s overall efforts, as each employee knows its duties and carries out its specific range of tasks.  Thanks to the certification system the risks and related losses are minimized, as is useless overlap in business operations.

The following step for Sibirtelecom to take after being certified under the ISO 9001:2000 standard will be to obtain mainstream industry certification on compliance with standard TL 9000, which is acknowledged by the world telecommunications market.
