OREANDA-NEWS. June 19, 2008. The eighth annual conference “Regions and Cities of Russia: Organizing Financial Investment Programs” took place in Moscow on May 28, 2008.

The State Debt Committee of the City of Moscow in cooperation with the International Assembly of Capital and Large Cities organized the conference. Several hundred delegates, primarily representatives of government and the banking community, participated in plenary and topical sessions. Peter Aristov, deputy head of Treasury at Bank Electronika, was among the delegates.

During the conference, participants discussed current problems in economic development and the importance of investment activities in Russia’s regions. They also considered modern methods and the newest mechanisms for attracting external financing, legal aspects of organizing sub-federal and municipal borrowings, the role of banks and large businesses in realizing regional infrastructure projects, and other matters connected with organizing financial investment programs in regions of the Russian Federation.

The conference included the presentation of awards to the best issuers during 2007.
