OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 June 2008 was announced, that works on connection of Western Siberia - Pacific Ocean main petroleum pumping station (pipe system) located near Taishet city to main grids were initiated in the Irkutsk area.

According to the information reported by the Irkutskenergo company management, the main petroleum pumping station will also link up the branch line from the 500/220/kilovolt electric substation also located near Taishet.

Oilmen are expected to consume around 30 megawatt energy: expansion of the open switching centre of the substation is planned to be implemented for this purpose.

The main petroleum pumping station occupies more than 25 hectares and will pump over hydrocarbonic raw material from the Omsk-Angarsk operating main oil pipeline towards Bratsk, Ust Kut and further to the east. The complex includes five tanks of 50 thousand tons capacity each and two tanks of 5 thousand capacity each, and also pumps made by Sulzer-Pumps Swiss firm famous for good productivity.

In total, along the 2700 km of the first stage of West Siberia - Pacific Ocean up to the city of Skovorodino in the Amur area, seven petroleum pumping stations are planned to be constructed. Two reservoir stocks are planned to be erected besides the Taishet one.

The initial start-up complex of the pipeline system assumes circulation of 30 million tons of hydrocarbonic raw material a year, and after expansion of the highway to the coast of the Pacific ocean this figure will grow to 80 million. Oil will be received both from the Western Siberia, and from the deposits of the Krasnoyarsk region, Irkutsk area and Yakutia.
