OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 June 2008 was announced, that as part of a talent management program, employees of steel pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe recently graduated from the mini-MBA program of one of Europe’s leading business schools, The Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University in the Netherlands.

The first participants of the mini-MBA program, were seventeen Interpipe employees, selected as a result of an assessment center. The program lasted six months and consisted of six key modules: Strategy, Leadership, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations.

During the executive study program, participants gained not only a comprehensive knowledge of international business practices but also had the opportunity to implement what they had learnt, working on issues of crucial strategic interest for Interpipe.

Teaming up in small groups, Interpipe’s employees presented their MBA projects to a jury consisting of the Interpipe management team and representatives of The Rotterdam School of Management.  Interpipe aims to use the MBA projects as a basis for new business decisions.

Oksana Marina, Director of Human Resources at Interpipe said:

 “One of Interpipe’s current strategic tasks is the creation of a pool of highly-educated, trained individuals who will be able to grow their careers at the Company and have enough expertise to hold key positions. The MBA provides participants with a vision of the business giving them the opportunity to implement management technologies. In this way, the program helps to develop not only the expertise of individual participants but the Company in general”.
