OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2008. TNK-BP is going to allocate 3.7 billion rubles in 2007–2010 for strategic development of the Saratov Oil Refinery, the press service of TNK-BP said.

86.498 million rubles was spent in 2007 for overhauling the Saratov Oil Refinery and turning out diesel fuel with a sulfur content of 350 ppm.

An investment project is currently under implementation for production of diesel fuel with a sulfur content as low as 10–50 ppm. According to the schedule, production of diesel fuel with 50 ppm of sulfur will start in 2009 and 10 ppm in 2012, said a press service representative.

Apart from that, added he, the Saratov Oil Refinery will start production of gasoline brands corresponding to the Euro-3 and Euro-4 standards. In the framework of this project, an isomerization unit will be constructed and put into operation, whose design is now under development.

The period between overhauls at the Saratov Oil Refinery is 2 years. The previous overhaul was completed in October 2007. As a result, the production capacity of the refinery increased by 8.3% from its rated capacity of 6 million tons a year up to 6.5 million tons a year.
