OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2008. The Joint-Stock Company “Orenburgneft” incorporated in TNK-BP is integrating a new drilling technology in its fields based on the use of flexible pipes, the press service of TNK-BP said to Interfax.

The use of flexible pipes will revive inactive wells, improve their performance, and increase the rate of oil production from them. TNK-BP will use this drilling technology for the first time in its practice, noted a press service representative.

The international corporation Schlumberger is invited for implementation of this project.

The Rodinskoe field of Sorochinskneft, where one of the inactive wells will be revived, will serve as the test field of this project. The new technology will increase the daily production of oil nearly three times from 35 to 80 tons.

This technology will also be used for gas wells, added the press service representative.

Orenburgneft is producing hydrocarbons in four oil fields Orenburg Region – Buzulukskoe, Buguruslanskoe, Sorochinskoe, and Pervomaiskoe fields.
