OREANDA-NEWS. In the evening of 20th June 2008, the three-day trip of the diesel desulphurization reactors from Klaipeda Seaport ended at AB Mazeikiu Nafta Refinery. The cargo of the record size – two reactors, each measuring 34 meters in length and weighing 535 tons, were delivered to the refinery without any major troubles.

Transportation of the reactors began at Gijon port, Spain, on May 29. The sea voyage of the installations took nine days.

The movement of the cargo by the roads of Western Lithuanian attracted crowds of people who took pictures of the cargo along the entire route.

A crane with a lifting capacity of 1200 tons was delivered from Holland to lift the heaviest cargo in Lithuania’s history from special trailers.
