OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2008. In frames of the Ukraine-Moldova business forum in Chisinau, Head of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UUIE), Anatoliy Kinakh, and Head of the National Association of Goods Producers of Moldova (NAGPM) Vasile Tarlev sign a cooperation agreement.

Participants in the business forum particularly discussed the purchase of agro-industrial raw materials in Moldova, import of agricultural equipment, rape and other technical crops from Ukraine, general brewing, wine-making and production of other alcoholic beverages.

Anatoliy Kinakh said at a meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Zinaida Grecianii that Ukraine's WTO accession opens new possibilities for cooperation with Moldova.

The UUIE President especially stressed that by the 2007 results, the bilateral goods turnover exceeded USD 1 billion. The growth of goods and services turnover between Ukraine and Moldova totaled some 40% against 2006.

For her part, the Moldovan Premier noted that Ukraine ranks third after Russia and Romania among the countries with largest volumes of the bilateral trade with Moldova. However, there is a problem with extremely low level of mutual investments. According to Greceanii, the volume of Moldovan investments in Ukraine since early year made up about USD 35 million, while that of Ukraine to Moldova - some USD 27 million.
