OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 July 2008 was announced, that the conference “Efficient packaging salvations” was held in the framework of the 2nd International Business Forum “Strategic challenges for the Russian packaging market” (Rosupak).

The first part of the conference was dedicated to the technological innovations. The floor was given to: Natalia Petrunya, the Leading Expert on software solutions of the VEST’ ACS department; Ikko Matsui, the Manager of NIPPON GOHSEI technology; Yurgen Pomorin, the Technical Support specialist of Evonik Industries (Germany); Elizaveta Kudryashova, the Head of HUHTAMAKI marketing department and other specialists.

Marketing was the main topic of the evening session. The experienced “gurus” presented the results of their research on consumers’ psychology. Pavel Dmitrikov, Director General of HoloGreat-Pack, made a report on the visual-active packaging materials as a means of goods communication. Grigory Trusov, the President of Contact-Expert Consulting Company, author of the book “It’s them who will come and buy” told the audience why it is necessary to apply such materials and what there is in common between a modern consumer and a squirrel. Nicolas Rudolph, the fellow of the European Council of Directors of the brand-consulting holding NEIMS (Paris-Sydney-Moscow), stated that “brand is a promise which is based on the clients’ expectations and is regularly given”. Oleg Makarov, Marketing Director of SAFI Consulting, suggested considering the packaging from the four view points: of its manufacturer, the product manufacturer, retailer and consumer.

The experts’ arguments evoked the responses of the audience and opened new professional prospects.

The Forum’s results were discussed at the panel discussion “Effective packaging as the result of cooperation”. The participants of the discussion were: the heads of the National Confederation of Packagers (NKPak), PAKMASH Association, Russian Union of Ice-Cream Makers, StekloSoyuz Association, RAO Bumprom, Bulgarian National Packaging Academy, Polish Chamber of Tare and Packaging.

The Forum demonstrated the maturity of the Russian packaging industry, the consolidation of Russian Packagers and their integration into domestic and international markets. The main result of the Forum’s work was development of the recommendations for the State Duma, Government of Russia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and industrial unions and associations.
