OREANDA-NEWS. July 9, 2008. Stroytransgaz has fully deployed resources for construction of a cooling tower within a project to expand the Yugo-Zapadnaya cogeneration plant (TEC-22), a facility of the Nevsky branch of TGC-1 in St. Petersburg.

The company has established a construction management office for TEC-22 at its St. Petersburg branch, confirmed the schedule for completing the work and the construction budget, and concluded contracts with vendors for materials and equipment. Cement, armature, and hydro-insulation work for the underground portion of the cooling tower are presently underway at the construction site.

This facility, which is designed to cool large quantities of water, is an element in the water circulation system of the cogeneration plant. The tower will be built in the form of a reinforced concrete encasement 82 meters in height. The surface area for flooding will by 3200 m©ч.

Stroytransgaz signed a contract with the general contractor for the new energy block ўа4 of the Yugo-Zapadnaya TEC-22, Technopromexport, in February 2008. Per terms of that contract, Stroytransgaz will fulfill the entire complex of construction-assembly work for the cooling tower and procure and install its equipment. The company will obtain ancillary equipment and pipage and complete brickwork and thermal insulation for all objects of the new energy block ўа4 at the Yugo-Zapadnaya TEC-22. It will also build the system for cooling steam-turbine condensers at the power plant.
