OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 July 2008 was announced, that Volga-Dnepr airlines opens flights to Cheboksary and Ulyanovsk from Moscow International Airport Domodedovo.

Flights to Cheboksary are performed from July 1st by Yak-40 three times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Volga-Dnepr became the second carrier in Moscow aviation hub after Open Air to operate flights from Moscow to Cheboksary. For the last year the passenger traffic on this route increased by 76% and totaled 22,000 passengers.

Moreover, as from July 5th Volga-Dnepr launched flights to Ulyanovsk. The flights are performed by Yah-40 on Saturdays. The number of passengers on route Moscow – Ulyanovsk – Moscow has been steadily increasing. In 2007, about 40,000 passengers were carried, that is a 24% rise over last year.

“Launching flights to the capital of Chuvashia and Ulyanovsk from Domodedovo airport is to respond to the sustainable growth of passenger traffic demand on these routes. As the demand increases, up to five flights a week to Cheboksary will be possibly added”, - comments Mr Vladimir Gortikov, Director of the division “Passenger traffic” Volga-Dnepr airlines” limited.
