OREANDA-NEWS. On July 03, 2008 In a recent survey by RBC Rating, Alfa-Bank analysts were ranked among the best in their field in almost all categories, reported the press-centre of  Alfa-Bank.

Natalia Orlova, the Bank’s Chief Economist, was ranked Russia’s No. 1 banking analyst, while Olga Naydenova came in No. 3. Senior Analyst Angelika Henkel took the top slot in Market Commentary, and Ronald  P. Smith, Head of Research, was chosen as the second-best Strategist. Senior Analyst Roydel Stewart was ranked the No. 2 transportation analyst and No. 3 machine-building analyst. Alfa-Bank came in third in the overall ranking of best equity research team.

About 30 companies and over 100 analysts were nominated for the survey. The main criterion in selecting nominees was whether an investment company or bank was in the top 10 on the list of “Russia’s Major Brokers of 2007”.

The analysts were ranked by investment experts based on their published research reports, among other things. The experts who voted for the nominees were drawn from companies that were not among the nominees. The list of experts was not disclosed to analysts.

“Alfa-Bank’s strong finish in the independent RBC rating shows that our team work and professionalism have been recognized by the investment community,” noted Edward Kaufman, Head of Investment Banking. “It demonstrates to our current and prospective customers that they made the right choice in selecting Alfa-Bank as a partner in the Russian investment market.”

Founded in 1990, Alfa-Bank is a universal bank that offers a complete range of financial services, including private and corporate client services, investment banking, trade financing and asset management.
