OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2008. Norway's Autolink Group and the Estonian Baltic Maritime Logistics Group have set up a joint venture, Autolink Baltics AS, to provide new passenger car logistics services, reported the Official website www.investinestonia.com.

Based in the South Port of Paldiski, Autolink is able to provide car manufacturers and distributors a complete service ranging from terminal handling and storage to shipment by rail or by road to the Baltic countries, Russia and CIS.

The new company has already launched operation from the terminal in Paldiski, offering transport by road to all the three Baltic countries and transit by rail into Russia and other CIS countries.

Autolink Baltics is about to acquire Baltic Maritime Logistics Group's companies CF&S Vehicle Logistics, CF&S Rail and MBJ-Holding which will continue operating under the Autolink brand.
Managing director of Baltic Maritime Logistics Group Tarmo Nurmetalo told BNS Autolink plans to expand operations by increasing its fleet of rail cars and taking advantage of the Norwegian Autolink Group's contacts in the business of car transport.

Autolink's market share in this business in Norway is 90 percent, Nurmetalo said. In his words, Autolink is at present able to handle 15,000 passenger cars annually in Estonia but the figure should increase substantially in the future.
