OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2008. The growth in consumer prices for food products in Ukraine amounted to 0,6% in June compared to May 2008, the State Statistics Committee reported.

The committee registered the highest growth in prices for bread and bread products (3,1%), meat and meat products (1,4%), fish and fish products (2,2%), potatoes (26,2%), animal fats (4,1%), sugar confectionery (1,9%), and non-alcoholic drinks (1,6%).

At the same time, many food products fell in prices - milk (2%), cheese and curds (1,2%), eggs (14,1%), butter (0,6%), sunflower oil (0,8%), fruits (2,3%), vegetables (0,8%), and sugar (1,9%).

Ukraine saw inflation of 0,8% in June and 15,5% since the beginning of the year.
